Sexting Crime Archives

Come on now, I don’t want to be rude but if these two had a brain cell between them it would be lonely. Its low life’s like this that give sexting a bad name. There is a right way and a wrong way to sext. Never ever sext if you are under age and never ever sext someone that is under age. Kids are growing up to fast now a days anyway. At least wait until your 16 or what ever the  legal age for sex is in your part of the world before you get into sexting. And never ever send a nude sext image unless you are happy for it to be on a porn site. The worst part is 10 years down the track that image is still on that porn site and your dad sees it. Yes he likes to visit porn sites but he does not expect to see his little girl on it.

Two Men Arrested For Sexting Teen Girl

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- Two Clarksville men have been arrested after exchanging explicit text messages with and requesting sex from a young teenage girl.

Police said that 20-year-old Vincent Cleveland Georgic not only sent messages to a 14-year-old girl requesting sex, but later rented a local hotel room and had sex with the girl. Police were alerted with the teen’s mother discovered she was receiving the receiving explicit text messages. In addition to the previous messaged received, after police had taken custody of the phone Georgic sent a message to the young girl asking her to participate in the threesome with him and another friend.

After further investigation police determined that Georgic was aware of the girl’s age when they engaged in sexual activity. He was arrested on October 26 and charged with statutory rape.

While investigating the Georgic case, Clarksville Police discovered 21-year-old Justin Chappell had been sending graphic text messaged to a local detective posing as an underage girl. Chappell not only sent the graphic messages, but also arranged a meeting to have sexual intercourse with the juvenile and a 16 year old friend. Police arrested Chappell at the hotel where he was supposed to meet with the teens.

Chappell was charged with solicitation of a minor and was being held on at $15,000 bond.

This really pisses me off. The fact that some dirty old man sends text messages to a girl of 9 puts sexting in a bad light. This creep was going to be a paedophile no matter what media he used. Its just that texting was a faster way of contacting the girl. Hell in the pass he did not even need to text them. They were brought to him or he visited them. Where were the parents for the 3 days this dirty old man was feeling up their daughter in the swimming pool?  What sort of replies was the undercover cop sending that he thought a 9 year old girl could go out by herself to meet him at a restaurant.  This is not about sexting but about the way some parents do not look after their children.

Man gets 12 years for sexting to child

By HEATHER RAWLYK, Staff Writer

A 65-year-old Linthicum man was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Friday for sexting an undercover police detective who was posing as a 9-year-old girl.

Upon release, David Mitchell Rowe will be on lifetime supervised release and must register as a sex offender.

The sentence was handed down by Judge Catherine C. Blake in U.S. District Court in Baltimore.

Rowe was a member of a swimming pool at Embassy Suites at 1300 Concourse Drive in Linthicum, according to the plea agreement. He met the girl in June 2011 while she and her parents were guests at the hotel.

Prosecutors said Rowe played pool games with the girl for three days that escalated from wrestling to touching. Rowe also exposed himself to the girl while underwater.

When the girl’s parents were checking out of the hotel June 10, 2011, Rowe gave a small velvet bag to a lifeguard and asked him to give it to her. The lifeguard gave the bag to the girl’s father instead.

In the bag, the child’s father found a gold money clip with “Dave” engraved with a folded photograph of Rowe. On the back of the photo, Rowe had written “Write, Call or Text please. Don’t forget me. (smiley face) Miss you” along with his correct address and phone numbers.

The child’s father called police and beginning June 20, 2011, an undercover detective sent a text message to Rowe that said, “Hi Mr. Dave remember me from the pool?”

Rowe responded that he did remember the girl and in a three-day span sent more than 200 text messages to the detective. In the messages, Rowe said society would not allow them to be together and that he would end up in jail. He also discussed how he touched the girl at the pool and acknowledged she was just 9 years old. Rowe also sent text messages that described in detail sexual activity the girl should engage in and said he wanted to have sex.

He arranged to meet the girl at a restaurant in Baltimore County, where he said he would have oral sex with her.

When Rowe arrived at the restaurant, detectives were waiting. At the time of his arrest, Rowe was carrying the cellphone he used to text with the detective.

A search of Rowe’s van revealed he had folded down the back seats and placed a pillow and blanket on the van floor.

Rowe told police he is sexually aroused by girls ages 9 to 11 years old. He admitted to molesting an 11-year-old girl in the mid-1970s while the child was visiting his house. He said he also molested a 9-year-old girl in 2011 while visiting that child’s family out of state.

Detectives contacted both victims, who confirmed Rowe had molested them.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Police and school educate parents and students on technological trend of sexting.

This is a much better way to handle under age sexting. Sext education. It should be in all the schools. Well done to all the Police and Norton High School.

Sext education

Recent reports of sexting incidents at Norton High School prompted police and school officials to educate students and parents about this trend.

Norton Police Detective James Franco received a report of a sexting at the high school and, very early on in the investigation, determined this was a widespread problem at the school.

“A decision was made to handle this as a teachable moment at the school rather than to charge a large number of students with associated felonies,” said Lieutenant Todd Jackson.

According to Jackson, any person who creates, distributes or possesses a sexually explicit image of a minor in Massachusetts is committing a crime and is subject to prosecution under the state’s child pornography laws. These associated laws are five to 20 year felonies and require registration as a sexual offender.

Sext Image Stolen

I have said it before if your going to send a sext image of yourself to someone or worst still post one of yourself online expect to see it pop up where you least expect it. As per this article in the Sydney Morning Herald.

THOUSANDS of sexually explicit images of children and young people posted online by themselves and their peers are sext imagebeing stolen by porn websites, according to an internet safety organisation.

A study by the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) reveals that 88 per cent of self-made sexual or suggestive images and videos posted by young people, often on social networks, are taken from their original location and uploaded to other sites.

During 47 hours, over a four-week period, a total of 12,224 images and videos uploaded by children and young people were analysed and logged by the IWF. The majority of these were then mined by “parasite” websites created for the sole purpose of displaying sexually explicit images and videos of young people. Of the 12,224 images and videos monitored on 68 websites, 10,776 were later found on parasite websites….More at Sexting teenagers easy prey for porn sites – Sydney Morning Herald

Accused New York Cell Phone Thief Busted After ‘Sexting’ Victim

(The New York Post) – A dopey thief “sexted” a New York woman for a tryst after making off with her cell phone — and was surprised to see cops waiting for him at his proposed hookup site, police sources said.

Marques Hoskins, 21, had broken into the woman’s apartment Sunday at around 2:30am, while she was taking her dog for a walk.

When she got back, she found Hoskins sitting on her bed with her laptop, the sources said. Her dog scared him off, but he got away with her cell and wallet.

The victim called cops and two hours later an officer, posing as the victim, used his phone to text the victim’s cell. Hoskins allegedly texted back minutes later, demanding $500 for the phone and asking if they could hook up.

The officer gladly accepted, inviting Hoskins to an undisclosed location. Police brought along the victim, who identified Hoskins. He was arrested on burglary and related charges.

Cops recovered the victim’s phone and wallet. Sources said Hoskins had apparently followed the victim into her building after she came home from her job at a nearby bar….More at Thief Busted After ‘Sexting’ Victim

Wisconsin bus driver accused of sexting student

April 14th, 2012 by Melissa Schwartz

An 11-year-old Wisconsin child reportedly received 10 sexts from a school bus driver over the last couple of weeks. The child’s disturbed parents reported the occurrence to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday night.

The bus driver, 51-year-old Bobb Otto Bergman of Gleason, WI,  was arrested Thursday as he was starting his bus route according to NBC 12 in Wisconsin. He was charged with four felony offenses including causing a child to view a sex act, causing mental harm to a child, exposing a child to harmful material and stalking. Bergman was released from jail once he posted $1,500 in bail.

The sexts, including pictures of genitalia, allegedly began on March 31. The last sext sent to the child was received on Monday. The child has since deleted the uncomfortable images. The Wausau Daily Herald reports that the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department is trying to obtain the child’s phone records.

The child has told the police that he was not touched during the incidents. However, the child did say that Bergman asked him to obtain cellphone numbers for other children riding the bus. Bergman allegedly attempted to convince the child to obtain the numbers by claiming that the bus company requires them.

The Wausau Daily Herald further reveals that Bergman contends that he did not send nude images. He also maintains that the child was asking him questions about sexual topics.

Neither the school district nor the bus company involved were mentioned in the court papers….More at Wisconsin bus driver accused of sexting student

This zero tolerance idea to sexting is just too hard line. As I keep saying sexting is not for anyone that is a minor. And no adult should sext a minor. But kids will be kids and experment with sex. Sexting is an expermential form of sex for some teens. The sad part is when some jerk or bitch gets hold of an image that is not theirs and forwards it on to everyone else and ruins what was a private moment between too young lovers. Whats your view?

Zero Tolerance is Not the Answer to Sexting

From the University of New Hampshire: Rigid, zero-tolerance policies to prevent sexting that do not allow for discretion and the ability to address sexting in the context of the situation are ineffective strategies for dealing with this troubling trend, according to a University of New Hampshire professor who studies legal issues in education.

“Zero tolerance for sexting, without an understanding of context, replaces common sense with a rigid response that may be equally administered but is not fair. Turning over alleged sexters to the police for criminal prosecution may meet the dictates of the law, but school officials should have some leeway in turning over the matter to the police,” says Todd DeMitchell, professor of education and justice studies at UNH.

DeMitchell outlines his recommendations in the “Cardozo Public Law, Policy and Ethics Journal” in the article Student Victims or Student Criminals? The Bookends of Sexting in a Cyber World. Martha Parker-Magagna, a doctoral candidate of education at UNH, is a co-author.

“School officials walk the tightrope of responding to sexting in an appropriate way with little guidance as to how to differentiate between a heinous crime better handled by the police and clearly inappropriate adolescent behavior best handled by the school and the parents,” he says.

When sexting is discovered by school officials, DeMitchell recommends that school officials first notify a student’s parents. “Often resolving sexting can be as simple as bringing the behavior to the attention of the parents in order to curb or stop it. Schools must be unequivocal in considering sexting inappropriate and meeting the sharing of photos and texts with a swift and sure response,” he says.

In addition, schools must be acutely aware that sexting may trigger bullying and peer sexual harassment. Such behavior must be dealt with firmly and immediately by school administrators through existing policies allowing for disciplinary action in response to bullying or harassment.

“The taunting of students at school should never be met with indifference and silence. No student should have to run a gauntlet of abuse in order to attend school,” DeMitchell says.

At the same time, district attorneys must weigh whether prosecution is the best approach to dealing with a sexting incident or whether education is a better approach. DeMitchell stresses that society’s fundamental interest in protecting children cannot be lost in a zero-tolerance type of response to sexting.

Finally, lawmakers must fashion a reasonable response to sexting that acknowledges the harm created while not condemning students found sexting to a marginalized life through prosecution for child pornography, he says.

“Sexting is a new challenge. How schools and society respond to sexting will speak to the type of society we construct for ourselves and our children,” DeMitchell says.

Professor DeMitchell welcomes comments on his article. For further information contact him here….More at Zero Tolerance is Not the Answer to Sexting

 Sexting or Child Porn

I would not call this a sexting scandal. Its more like a underage sex tape scandal. Sexting is where you send each other erotic messages or images . Not where some teen geek gets his jollys filming a sex act then passes it aound school. If the freshman was over 18 and the junior was only 15 as some reports suggest then the freshman should be done for preforming a sexual act on someone under age. The idiot that filmed it should be done for Child porn. Whats your View?

WESTMINSTER, Colo. — A sexting scandal at a high school has done more than land some students in big trouble, it cost a Westminster police officer his job.

In March, a video of two high school students performing a sex act went viral throughout student’s cell phones at Standley Lake High School.

Just days later, a Westminster cop was fired for “mishandling the case.”

While only a few details have been released about what happened students at the school tell FOX31 Denver their side of the story.

“It was two kids from my school one was a freshman one was a junior. The guy was a junior,” says a freshman student who wanted to remain anonymous.

The video was allegedly recorded by the male junior student and was passed along throughout the high school baseball team then quickly throughout the school.

“Someone had dared the girl to do things with the guy with other kids in the car. Someone pulled a camera out to videotape it and sent it around the school,” she says.

Days after being assigned to the case, a Westminster detective was the subject of his own investigation and was released from the police department.

Westminster police have not released information about the detective involved or if he might face charges.

“I’ve heard several stories maybe he like sent it to someone or he knew about it and didn’t tell anyone,” says a sophomore student who also wanted to remain anonymous.

“I just saw a whole bunch of people crowding a round this one person of a phone and there was the video I heard about,” the student tells FOX31 Denver about how he found out about the video. “I saw it but I didn’t want it on my phone.”

Jefferson County Public Schools released this statement;

“The appropriate disciplinary actions were taken against the students involved.”

Students say the junior boy in the video and the student who sent the video on to others were suspended.

“I haven’t seen either of them today,” the sophomore says.

Westminster police continue to warn any students who may be temtped to watch or share the video with others.

“To view that video or a video similar to that potentially is a felony as well to forward that from a cell phone to a friend’s email or to a friend’s cell phone,” says Trevor Materasso of the Westminster Police Department.

The two teens involved in making and originally distributing the video could face felony charges….More at High school sexting scandal costs police officer his job

When will people learn. It does not matter how hot she is never ever sext a minor. You are the adult.

Preliminary hearings for a Connellsville Area High School teacher accused of sexting a student.

The hearing was scheduled in the office of District Judge Ronald Haggerty.

Kevin Lee Bell, 26, of 176 Gimlet Hill Road, Mt. Pleasant, was charged with one count of sending sexual materials to a minor and one count of corruption of a minor.

The charges were filed after a 17-year-old girl told her mother that Bell had texted her photos of his private parts as well as a video of himself committing a sex act.

According to the criminal complaint, state police at Uniontown interviewed the student on March 26. She said Bell was her math teacher last year. Around March 9, the two messaged each other on Facebook, exchanged cell phone numbers and then nude photographs of each other.

Bell continued to text the student and called her 20 times, the complaint says. He then sent the cell-phone video of him performing a sex act.

His preliminary hearing was continued to 9:15 a.m. April 19 before Haggerty. Bell is free on 10 percent of a $25,000 surety bond.

What may have started out as a bit of innocent fun and a high school crush has gone wrong for a police officer in this report. Apart from losing his job, paying a massive fine, doing jail time. What gets me the most is the list of restrictions on his life as a sex offender. Is it really worth it just to see a photo of a pair of 16 year old tits. I think not. All he had to do was wait 2 years and it would have all been legal when she turned 18.( Depending on your location)

Arrested sexting offender

Image of actor

A former Granby Police officer who was convicted in May of engaging in “sexting” with a 16-year-old Middle Park High School girl was sentenced on Friday to 90 days in jail and five years in an intensive sex offender supervision program.

Jose Sanchez, 36, was also ordered to pay $15,654.90 in fines and costs, according to his sentencing order.

Sanchez met the victim in fall 2010 when he responded to a police call at her school, according to court documents, which indicate that during the ensuing two months Sanchez and the teen developed a texting relationship that evolved into sending sexually explicit photos of each other and provocative text messages.

Through a court order to acquire phone records, the Granby Police Department found that as many as 8,600 texts were exchanged between Sanchez and the teen during a period of about 56 days.

Colorado Bureau of Investigation interviews led to Sanchez’ arrest on Dec. 15, 2010, the same day Sanchez was fired from the Granby Police Department for “violating police department policies.”

Sanchez pleaded not guilty to the charges, but in May a jury found him guilty on four counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

The verdict was based on two charges of Class 3 felonies that Sanchez knowingly caused the victim to send naked photos of herself, a potential sentence of four to 12 years incarceration on each count, and two counts of Class 6 felonies for possessing the photos, each of which carries a potential sentence of one year to 18 months.

The sentencing order for Sanchez shows he was ordered to serve four 90-day jail terms, concurrently, with credit for one day served. The order also specifies 24 conditions of the sex offender supervision program to which he was sentenced for five years.

In addition to being ordered to comply with recommendations of an adult mental health sex offense-specific evaluation and parental risk assessment, the 24 provisions order Sanchez:

• To register as a Colorado sex offender, including with local law enforcement within five days of moving to any new jurisdiction;

• To have no contact with any children under the age of 18, including his own children;

• To discuss during his subsequent treatment session any inadvertent contact that may have occurred with a minor;

• To not reside in a residence with any children, including his own children, unless order to do so by the court;

• To have no contact whatsoever with the victim and to refrain from traveling past or loitering near the residence of the victim;

• To stay away from parks, schools, playgrounds and other areas that children frequent;

• To refrain from dating or marrying anyone with children younger than 18;

• To receive prior approval from his probation officer before changing residences;

• To abide by any curfew his probation office might impose;

• To pay for all evaluations ordered by the court or probation;

• To refrain from possessing or consuming alcohol;

• To refrain from obtaining internet service or using anyone else’s internet service without permission from his probation officer and to permit searches of his computers and other electronic devices;

• To not possess any vision-enhancing devices, cameras or video recording devices.

Sexting case leads to arrest, citation

From the how stupid to you have to be file comes this story from shreveporttimes.com on another Sexting Arrest.

MANSFIELD — An adult male and juvenile female face criminal charges because of inappropriate communication between the two via cell phones, DeSoto Parish sheriff’s Cpl. Garland Hensley said.

Raynard Blunt, 20, of Mansfield, was arrested Friday in Caddo Parish and transported to the DeSoto Detention Center, where he was charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile. His bond was set at $10,000 later in the afternoon.

A 14-year-old girl, of Logansport, was issued a citation for sexting.

Sheriff’s investigators received the initial complaint in February from the girl’s mother after Blunt sent nude photos of himself to the girl. Blunt was warned to stop. “But he didn’t keep up with his end of the deal,” Hensley said, “and he continued to talk and text” by purchasing the girl another cell phone.

The teenager then sent nude photos of herself to Blunt, Hensley said
